Si-Flux Ltd, a UK-registered enterprise with a global presence, has been at the forefront of self-priming siphonic system innovation since 1983. Its groundbreaking developments have played a pivotal role in shaping today’s global standards and guidelines.

Beginning with the inception of siphonic systems in 1983, Si-Flux pioneered the first patent self-priming siphonic outlet. This innovative outlet featured an anti-vortex plate with three fins, effectively eliminating vortex flow and facilitating full-bore peak storm flow. Developed in collaboration with the University of Sheffield, Si-Flux’s analytical design program incorporated essential safety parameters, including a maximum negative pressure of 8.00 meters water column (m.w.c), a minimum flow of 1.00m/s, and a 10% outlet reserve. These automatic safety features are fundamental in siphonic system design.

Gravity solution is a basic calculation of free vertically flowing rainwater to a series of underground manholes and inegrated pipework, Prolonging the program, Incorporating roofing, mechanical, Civil & design coordination. With Eco impact of approximately 35KG per M2 carbon footprint.

Si-Flux Rainwater Solution

Si-Flux Solution is risk averse & Comprises of full Design, Materials & Installation by a single source Si-Flux Distributor, Simplifying coordination on site whilst accelerating the program. There are no internal vertical or Underground collection systems to worry about, Si-Flux is Eco-Friendly with only 5KG per M2 Carbon footprint, providing up to 30KG M2 carbon savings.

Si-Flux Outlets are designed to operate at full-bore discharge capacity up to 10 times compared to gravity outlets.
The unique Si-Flux outlet geometry minimises the possibility of blockages, and allows the designer to provide a minimal number of outlets, and minimum number of downpipes, Holistic cost reduction of 30-40% compared with Gravity System.

SIPHONIC RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT TEAM HISTORY FROM 1983 ONWARDS

When our R&D team pioneered and patented one of the first commercial Siphonic Systems in 1983, it was perceived as a specialist system, generally installed by companies with experience. This was due to the fact only a few siphonic systems were utilized at that time. Our initial research from 1983 onwards assisted by underpinning the following standards and guidelines by institutions such as EN 12056 Part 3; 2000, BS 8490 Guide to Siphonic Roof Drainage, 2007, & ASPE/ANSI 45, 2013. Today, Our R&D team and its siphonic system have evolved, and stand proud that its empirically tested systems with institutions such as the University of Sheffield, Herriot Watt, HR Wallingford & UKAS calibration set precedence for the safe and accepted rainwater solution we know today as Si-Flux.
